General information

Background: Hawksmoor School was opened in 1976 by Queen Elizabeth II. The school building is based around a square with juniors and infants occupying half each. There is a nursery attached. Children enjoy the provision of extra-curricular activities such as football, cricket, dance, brass band, recorder, choir, swimming and craft club. The girls' team has been Greenwich Cricket champions three times in four years. The Club Room provides one class each lunchtime the chance to play snooker and table tennis indoors. Hawksmoor provides an after-school club to cater for the needs of working parents. Relations with parents are strengthened by regular fundraising events for the school such as line dancing, karaoke and fairs. Pupils are proud of the school's efforts for charity, including donations to Comic Relief and Help the Aged.
