Background: Nightingale is a community primary school providing an education for both boys and girls from the ages of three to 11. The school has one class for each year group. There is a large hall for physical education, assemblies and lunch. Outside, there is a court for ball games, several playing areas, grass and concrete and a wildlife area, which includes a pond. The school organises a wide number of extra-curricular activities for children throughout the year. The school has achieved Healthy School award during the academic year 2003-04.
