General information

Background: Hackney Free and Parochial was founded by the Church in 1520 to offer free education to both girls and boys in Hackney. It is now a comprehensive school and is the only Church of England School in the Borough. As such, it has strong links with St John at Hackney Church. Major achievements include first in the National Panathlon Finals 2002, as well as involvement in Javelin throwing, district soccer, netball, athletic and cricket champions in various age groups. Having just been awarded Sports College status its facilities will be further enhanced over the next four years. The school has links with Hackney Education Business partnership which provides innovative and interesting perspectives and contexts for pupils' learning. The school also works with Dalston Youth Project, the Windsor Foundation, Common Purpose and Rathbone CI. The school aims to inspire, challenge to providing and expect its students to achieve the highest standards of work and behaviour that they are capable of.
