General information

Background: Simon Marks is a purpose-built school with excellent facilities and large, well-resourced classrooms. It is set in a leafy, tree-lined road of large, Victorian houses in Stoke Newington, Hackney. Jewish studies curriculum teaches Judaism as a way of life. The school celebrates all festivals and hold weekly Kaballat Shabbat and Havdallah services. The school is a modern orthodox, voluntary aided school. The school operates under the auspices of the Scopus Educational Trust and The Learning Trust, Hackney. The Scopus Educational Trust started life as the Zionist Federation Educational Trust, and thus Israel is celebrated as central to their Jewish life. The school aims to make Judaism an enriching and inspiring experience for its pupils. The school also aims for the highest educational standards and ensure that all children acquire a love for learning and pleasure through extending their imagination, creativity and curiosity.
