General information

Background: The school opened in 1990 with 35 children and has grown to be one of the largest primary schools in the county. It has new, award winning buildings situated in eight acres of grounds divided into a wild life conservation area, a berrywood, various gardens and paved seating areas as well as a playing field area large enough for a full size running track. Swimming is encouraged at the public swimming pool, and the school also has extra curricular football, netball and games clubs. The school has a growing orchestra and choir, as well as offering a range of peripatetic lessons - wind, keyboard and strings to all children. Drama is also encouraged, with the school having put on several musicals. All classrooms are equiped with a computer and printer and there is also an additional, networked, computer area.The school enjoys 'excellent' parental involvement and support and has links with a number of national and local charities. In April 1998, HRH The Prince of Wales visited the school.
