General information

Background: Bishop Challoner Catholic Secondary School founded in 1975 as the first Roman Catholic Secondary School in the area. It draws pupils from as far as Andover, 23 miles to the south, Tadley, Mortimer to the north and Odiham to the east. The school has very good cross-section of socio-economics groups and links with feeder schools including pupils, staff, governors and friends of the school. It is oversubscribed with 1.5 applications per place. The school?s new buildings opened in 1994 including four classrooms, business studies room, Information Technology room, Special Educational Needs (SEN) suite, departmental office and workroom. The school has won Mathematics and Computing Specialist Status in the year 2004. The school always try to put the interests of others first, living as centre, witnesses to Christ?s teachings. The school is a community where the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, based on the great commandment, to love God and the neighbour, are inculcated; the uniqueness of the individual is respected and accepted; everyone in the community is encouraged to develop knowledge, understanding and commitment to the Christian faith as expressed through the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church.
