Background: Highgate School was established in 1565 by a Royal Charter of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth I. Highgate comprises three schools - the senior school, the junior school and the pre-preparatory school. All three schools of the Highgate Foundation aim to provide a stimulating and up-to-date education within the framework of a good traditional school with a wealth of extra-curricular activities and excellent pastoral care. The academic curriculum at Highgate forms the heart of school life. The teachers are all specialists in their subjects and their main objectives are to educate and support. Running in conjunction with our strong academic programme is a range of activities that includes music and drama, sport, visits, lectures, societies and clubs. These activities are intended to stimulate and satisfy students' interests and enrich their lives. It provides financial assistance to enable pupils to start or continue their education at Highgate or to participate in worthwhile educational visits. .
