Background: Harrow High is a new mixed community school producing a full range of educational courses for students aged 12 to 16. The school is situated close to the centre of Harrow and has benefited from a £6000000 investment in its facilities, which are available to the local community. Facilities include a fitness suite, four computer rooms, purpose-built dance and drama studios, four court sports hall, all-weather pitches, specially designed science laboratories and state of the art technology facilities. The school is multi-cultural and reflects the diversity of the local population. The school has an innovative curriculum covering the national curriculum along with a range of other subjects. The visual and performing arts have a high profile in the school and provision is enhanced by the use of visiting specialists from the local community and beyond. As a sports college, with first class facilities, the school is committed to encouraging participation of pupils of all abilities and promoting a healthy lifestyle. New courses have been developed in outdoor adventure activities, dance, fitness and the nationally accredited Junior Sports Leader Award. The curriculum includes a range of individual and team sports. The extra-curricular programme is wide and varied and caters for a full range of abilities and interests.
