General information

Background: Hatch End High has a large theatre-style hall with tiered seating and full disabled access. A drama studio, music practice rooms and superb art and design studios with information and communication technology (ICT) access allow all students the opportunity to develop in these areas, both within the curriculum and in extra-curricular activities. In addition, the school recognises the importance of ICT across the curriculum and has a school wide computer network of over 130 computers, including five specialist rooms, having controlled access to broadband internet as a research tool. There are ten science laboratories, nine design and technology rooms, three art and design studios including a new photographic darkroom, a music suite comprising two large performance rooms and four rehearsal rooms with a wide range of musical instruments and an extremely well-stocked library. There is a language centre and a Careers Room. The school aim is to enable all students to achieve their academic potential, foster the wider development of each individual by offering a broad range of extra-curricular activities, create a climate of mutual respect and tolerance amongst all members of the community, foster a spirit of independence and self-worth and encourage a sense of pride in the cultural diversity of the community.
