General information

Headteacher: Desmond P Banister.

Background: Quainton Hall, established in Central Harrow at the end of the nineteenth century, is now an IAPS preparatory school for boys between the ages of four and thirteen. It exists to provide a broad, challenging education, within a secure and caring environment and within a definite Christian ethos. Boys are valued as individuals. Their learning experiences are stretching and stimulating.Quainton Hall provides an excellent preparation for the successful transfer of boys at the age of thirteen to senior schools of their parents. choice, mostly in North London, though sometimes further afield. However, curriculum is designed to do much more than merely prepare boys for the next stage in their continuing education. Creativity, communication, teamwork, determination and a sense of the value and dignity of others are just some of the essential attributes that are prized at Quainton Hall. The life and work of the school is planned to enable each boy to shine in at least one area. All staff have this objective as their aim. We also encourage the notions that learning is fun and that the acquisition of knowledge brings its own rewards. All that the school does is conducted in an atmosphere which promotes good order, consideration and tolerance. The school pays high regard to the development of responsibility, self-discipline, motivation and endeavor. .

Inspection: March 2002: 'Quainton Hall School has number of important strengths and some areas that need developing. The positive ethos of the school is fully reflected in the spiritual, moral and cultural development of the pupils. The lead shown by all the staff is effective in promoting a united approach to the pupils? good behaviour and their personal and social attitude. The overall attainment and progress of pupils in many subjects is commendable. The lack of formal staff appraisal and prioritised in-service training, the lack of a school library, the small size of a number of teaching areas, and the poor conditions of maintenance and decoration of a number of areas in the main school house detracts from the overall quality of educational provision.?.
