General information
Background: Rooks Heath was established in 1974 as an amalgamation of a boys' and a girls' school on the same site. Its team of highly qualified and professional staff deliver a flexible and challenging curriculum which aims to encourage all students to succeed, both in public examinations and in the development of any special talents that they possess. Rooks Heath High School is constantly updating and improving its equipment and resources to provide students with the best possible opportunities to make the most of their education. A programme of major improvements and refurbishments has resulted in an environment conducive to effective learning. There are four newly equipped computer suites as well as a library resource area, art area and an English as an additional language suite as well as refurbished science laboratories.Rooks Heath School is noted for its sporting success and PE provides an essential element to the school curriculum. The school competes successfully in local, county, and national competitions and has two well-equipped gyms and a dance studio. Drama is taught throughout the school in two specially designed studios, both with stage lighting. Music is an integral part of the curriculum. Rooks Heath High School has an excellent reputation for its art. Rooks Heath High School is a multicultural school which recognises and celebrates the diversity of culture, language and experiences of its community and aims to encourage and reflect this diversity in all aspects of school life.
