General information

Background: Whitchurch Middle opened in 1996 to satisfy a rising demand for school places in Harrow. Accommodation comprises 12 classrooms, specialist areas for food technology, science and design technology, a library, welfare room and multi-purpose hall. The school is set in 'attractively landscaped' grounds with a pond and large hard play area, and each classroom opens out onto a patio area. Pupils also have access to the adjacent Whitchurch playing fields. In addition to the National Curriculum, French is taught from Year 4. Individual music tuition is offered and the school has recorder groups, a choir and an orchestra. All children are expected to participate in a wide variety of sports. Extra-curricular activities are 'very important to the ethos of the school' and a range of clubs are available including art, dance, drama, ICT, football, netball, rounders, computers, cricket, gardening, recorder, orchestra and choir. .
