General information

Background: Whirefriars School is a two-form entry combined first and middle school. Children are taught in single age mixed ability classes. There are 16 main classrooms situated in four buildings. Children of middle school age are based in the main building which dates from 1911. The younger children classrooms are situated within the three other buildings. The nursery has its own large room with outside play facilities. There are a number of specialist rooms including art and design technology, science, home economics and a well equipped ICT suite which is used by all pupils. There is a separate library where pupils may borrow books. The school also shares the adjacent building with Harrow teacher's centre and has use of a large hall with stage and fully equipped gymanasium. The main building is surrrounded by a playground and the school also has a large field used for a variety of sporting activities.
