General information

Background: The school is situated on a pleasant site close to the edge of town with fine views over the surrounding countryside. All subject departments have well equipped suites of teaching rooms. As a growing school, it has a range of new buildings: dining hall, dance studio, drama studio, and science labs. In October 2003, its new Sixth Form Centre was completed. This is a purpose built centre for post-16 education with excellent study facilities. Sport and leisure complex and floodlit Astroturf pitch are built as the result of a successful National Lottery bid in 1998, have also greatly enhanced the educational experience the school provides. The Acts College Status and training school designation supports this aim. The school provides superb extra-curricular activities in the arts and sport. The school aims to prepare its students for life in the adult world by developing confidence, independence and motivation. The schools central aim is for every student to experience excellent and enjoyable learning and as a result, to achieve as well as he/she possibly can.
