General information

Background: St Mary's RC High School was originally founded in 1861, in the village of Lower Bullingham by four members of the Order of the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul. In 1939 it moved to Croft Castle, near Leominster and in 1954, it moved to its present site at Lugwardine. Boys were not admitted until 1966 and in 1973, the school was reorganised as an 11-16 mixed comprehensive. Today it serves the whole county of Herefordshire and is the designated school for all Catholic pupils. The school aims to care for pupils based on the values set out in Gospels, to do their best for everyone with strong emphasis on relationship. .
