Background: Bower Primary School, constructed in 1976, is a two-teacher school. There are two classrooms and a general-purpose room, which is used for physical education, music, watching television programmes as well as a dining room. Separate infant cloakrooms are provided. A tarmac play area and a large grassy field for games surround the building. A recently developed garden area provides excellent opportunities for Environmental Studies. It provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities including: swimming, dance and drama, concerts, chess, gardening, football and sewing. The school has dance and drama workshops to enable the children to learn effectively. The school aims to encourage children to take an active interest in their own learning.
