General information

Background: Established in 1934 in the centre of Feltham, St Lawrence's is 'continuing its steady growth and attaining an increasingly high level of achievement', by 'developing every child's individual potential'. The school's Christian ethos is assisted by close links with the church next door, where they celebrate special occasions, in addition to holding a weekly class Mass in the school. About one quarter of pupils have special educational needs, and a special curriculum is devised to meet their individual needs. Parents are asked to help with their children's reading as far as possible. School sporting teams have found success in local competitions. The 'active' parent-teacher association organises social events and consistently raises funds, which are currently being used to improve the school's playgrounds. Pupils are also encouraged to raise money for various charities. This is one way in which they can 'promote mutual respect and tolerance towards each other', a priority of school life.
