General information
Background: The school was founded in 1858 and occupies its original Victorian block with eight mobile classrooms with a pre-school on the same site. It is located in a beautiful rural locality and has extensive grounds. Facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool. It is renowned for its music and sport, which includes skiing. It has an orchestra, wind band and choir and is proud of the achievements of its sports teams. There are many community links, and children are encouraged to visit the local Church and nursing home. There are also links with schools in France, Germany and Russia. French is taught from Year 4. Children raise money for a variety of charities. The school is over-subscribed and there is a waiting list for most year groups. The school aims to enable each every child to achieve happiness, success and fulfilment in their school life, whilst building their confidence and self-esteem within a Christian spiritual and moral framework.
