General information

Background: Barrow Grove Junior School is a primary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is seven to 11. The school is housed in substantial buildings on a splendid site with large playing fields, gardens, a wild area, ponds and a variety of mature trees all being used as teaching resources. There is also a centrally heated swimming pool, which is used in the autumn and summer terms. A wide range of extra-curricular clubs are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include swimming, athletics, choir, football, netball, rugby, short tennis, cricket, German, science, badminton, poetry club and family lunch. The school aims to provide a secure and caring environment in which the well being of each child is valued and respected, enabling pupils to develop confidence in their ability to work independently and collaboratively.
