General information
Background: Founded in 1967, Beauherne Community School is located on a hill overlooking Canterbury. The grounds have an adventure playground, an asphalted play area, large playing fields and an enclosed garden with seats and tables for use as a quiet area. The City View Playgroup is also housed in the building and shares some of the school's facilities. Junior children participate in swimming lessons and interested pupils can join karate and gym clubs which operate commercially from the school's premises. Children in Years 5 and 6 are invited on the annual residential trip to the Isle of Wight or France. The school regularly organises fundraising events, such as a recent maths week to aid children's charities. The parent-teacher association organises events throughout the year and funds many school activities and projects.
