General information

Background: Claremont Primary is situated in the southern part of Tunbridge Wells and was opened in 1968. The building is modern and 'well equipped' including a hall, ICT suite and junior and infant libraries. 'Ample' grounds include two fields, two playgrounds and an established environmental garden with pond, butterfly and wild meadow area. A 'broad and balanced' curriculum is offered including swimming in Years 4 to 6 and French in Years 5 to 6. The school 'successfully' participates in local inter school sports and tournaments. The 'wide range' of extra-curricular activites includes cross country running, competitive team games, art, music and French. The school is divided into four houses, each raise substantial sums for charities of the children's choice over the year. There are 'good' links with the local community and parents, and there is an 'active' parent and teacher association (PTA).
