General information

Background: St George's Church of England Foundation School is a secondary school and sixth form for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is 11 to 18. The school aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include chess, ICT, environmental groups and rock bands as well as many sporting activities. There are also many outdoor pursuit activities such as skiing, ice skating and canoeing. Educational trips are also organised to enhance the curriculum. Pupils also enjoy a wide range of sporting activities including football, cricket, netball, hockey, swimming, gymnastics and orienteering. The school aims to provide a disciplined and friendly environment in which all its students are given every opportunity to develop their talents.
