General information

Background: West Malling Church of England Primary School is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in Kent; the present school buildings were completed in 1955. It is built within the Old Cricket Ground reputedly the cricket ground based around Pickwick Papers. Within a short distance there are large open spaces, a splendid lake and mature trees. The school buildings comprise a spacious hall, library, light airy classrooms and an extensive play area. Pupils are taught either in small groups or classes through a wide range of learning strategies. Sport is used as a way of promoting positive attitudes toward a healthy lifestyle and all general sports are taught. The school has strong links with St Mary's Church in West Malling and aims to serve its community through excellent education. The school promises to preserve and develop its religious character through partnerships with the Church at parish and Diocesan level. The school strives to help pupils acquire confidence, success and satisfaction in their work and to develop the habit of lifelong learning. The school's language unit serves pupils with speech and language disorders from all over the Mid Kent area. There is a model system of two-way integration and all pupils are treated equally. The school aims to provide a caring and friendly environment.
