General information
Background: Situated in the village of Honley, the school moved to its present buildings in 1968. It is has 'ample' playgrounds and is set in 'very attractive and well-developed' grounds. The main building is single storey and contains eight classrooms, libraries, dining and main halls. A two storey barn in the school grounds has been converted to provide a further classroom and computer suite. The school maintains a role in the local community through links with village institutions and its 'active' friends association. Instrumental tuition is provided by peripatetic teachers from the Kirklees Music Service. Pupils benefit from the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities both at lunchtime and after school. Visits to environmental centres, theatres and other places of interest are organised to enhance the curriculum. Individual or group withdrawal sessions with specialist teachers can be arranged for pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
