General information

Background: The school was founded in 1864 and relocated to the present site in 1892. Extensions were added onto land purchased in 1997 and the school now boasts 'excellent facilities and well equipped'. The cultural mix of the school population is very diverse, with 65 nationalities represented, much like its north Lambeth setting. School work is aided by good links with local business and extra curricular provision is also very good. Football, tennis, computing, American football, first aid and homework clubs all take place, and the school gas a good relationship with the Oval for cricket purposes. Charitable fundraising is led and participated in by the pupils, whilst funding for resources is supported by the parents and staff. The curriculum is designed to educate the pupils in such a way as they may 'form stable relationships with their peers', and that they may learn to be responsible for themselves and concerned with others.
