General information

Background: Gateways school is in the village of Harewood, mid-way between Leeds and Harrogate, and the former Dower House of the Harewood Estate forms the heart of the School. The school is within easy reach of Leeds and Harrogate, Otley, Wetherby, and Boston Spa and the surrounding villages. Gateways offers a wide range of high quality accommodation like an indoor sport shall marked for netball, basketball, indoor hockey, badminton and volley ball. Tennis courts and sports pitches. A performing arts centre for drama productions, musical concerts, lectures and presentations. Seminar and conference facilities. A fully lined marquee suitable for a wedding, ball or any function for up to 400 people. The school fosters good musicianship, enthusiasm and continuation of progress by involving pupils in further activities both in school, with other local schools, and outside the school. The PE department offers a wide range of team practices and sports clubs and sessions throughout the week. Since January 2005, the school has benefited from a new fitness suite, generously donated by the friends of Gateways which enables both pupils and staff to build their fitness and stamina at their own pace.
