General information

Background: Lutterworth Grammar School and Community College re-founded as a grammar school in 1880. It became a comprehensive community college in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Its specialist accommodation includes a modern library and resources centre, 15 science laboratories, seven computer laboratories, workshops and design studios, a sports hall, a weights room, a swimming pool, a sixth form centre, a television studio, a drama studio, a small theatre and a business centre. The choir tours regularly, while drama productions range from Greek theatre to musicals. The school became a technology college in 1996 and whilst having great strengths in the technological subjects. It also has a strong commitment to a broad curriculum. The arts thrive (Artsmark Gold) as does sport (Sportsmark). Facilities of the school include: tennis courts, sports hall, gymnasium, drama studio, floodlit artificial turf pitch, fifteen science laboratories and seven computer laboratories. Extra-curricular activities are an important enrichment of school life. Some of the activities are: Athletics, fitness, netball, softball, trampolining, badminton, hockey, rounders, swimming, volleyball, basketball, lacrosse, rugby, tennis, soccer, tabletennis, cricket and handball. The school aims to provide a curriculum that offers courses of interest and relevance to its widely varying intake and seeks to inspire young people to make the most of the opportunities on offer. .
