General information
Background: Corby Glen Community Primary School founded in 1877 as a rural community school. It is situated in a beautiful Victorian stone building whose important architectural facade the governors are keen to maintain. The building boasts a spacious and airy interior with two new classrooms added in 1980 with modern furnishings and carpets. The school serves a wide catchment area of 13 villages in the surrounding area. It is involved in events with other schools and communities. The learning environment is rich and stimulating and there is particular emphasis on learning from first hand experience. Parents are most welcome to help around the classroom. The school is proud of the extra- curricular activities that it offers including drama, games, French, a thriving sports club, a recorder group and tuition in the violin and woodwind instruments. The school encourages pupils? to support charities both locally and nationally. It is also proud of its successful and popular book week held in support of the National Year of Reading. The school aims to bring out the best in each child.
