General information
Background: The school was opened in September 1991 with the amalgamation of Bowl Alley Infant School and Bowl Alley Junior School. It is situated in a pleasant position, surrounded by hard play area and playing fields. The upper school has ten classrooms, a hall, library, computer suite and the main offices. There is a purpose-built nursery unit and a dining room block, which has two further teaching, places. The school has a computer suite for class-based lessons, with each class also having a computer. Children have the opportunity to perform and compose music using percussion instruments, and develop an appreciation of all types of music. Throughout school sport its aim to give opportunities for participation, enjoyment and success, which will be continued into adulthood as part of a healthy lifestyle. The curriculum is comprehensive and balanced and includes gymnastics, dance, games, athletics, swimming and outdoor pursuits. The school aims to provide a happy, caring environment in which children feel secure, valued, supported respected.
