General information

Background: The Boston Grammar School's foundation dates from a charter of 1555. It has been on its current site since 1567 and retains the original school hall, which is now the library. The latest of several additions to the grant maintained grammar is the Len Medlock Centre, a suite of rooms reserved for sixth form use. Extra-curricular activities include the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. In September 2002, the school was awarded specialist status as a Technology College. The school has been particularly successful in recent years at district and county level at football, cricket, athletics, basketball, cross-country and tennis. The school aims to provide an enjoyable and satisfying programme with opportunities for every pupil to develop physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively.
