General information

Background: The Deepings School is a mixed 11-18 specialist business and enterprise college providing education for children of all abilities. Located on the border with Cambridgeshire, the school was formed in 1972 with 450 pupils. The school is exceptionally well equipped, with a well-resourced library, a suite of information technology rooms, a new language block, a purpose built drama studio and modern music facilities. It shares a large dual-use leisure centre on site, which has swimming pools. The sixth form is housed in a purpose-built sixth form block, which includes a common room, study area, library and ICT facilities. The physical education department offers numerous extra-curricular activities. Many students undertake instrumental music lessons organised through the school and the school orchestra, choir and bands pull together the individual musical talents of pupils. Ski trips and sporting trips to Austria and Cyprus have all added to the pupils' range of European experience. Trips and field study activities to centres in this country also form a regular part of the school year. The school aims to provide a stimulating environment with a purpose to help all pupils to develop their unique potential to the full.
