General information

Background: Holly Lodge Girls' College offers education for students between the ages of 11 and 19. It is one of the most popular and over-subscribed schools in Liverpool as it places a strong emphasis on not only academic achievement but also courtesy and personal development. The environment and facilities are exceptional. The college has a beautiful 25-acre site, which encompasses not only landscaped gardens and a duck pond but new buildings housing science, technology, languages and English blocks, a large modern sports hall, climbing wall and dance studio. The college has been recognised by the Government as a centre of excellence for the Arts and holds Visual Arts Specialist College Status. It has a visual arts centre, Sandheys, which provides accommodation for ceramics, fine art, photography and multi-media. The college offers its students many opportunities in sport, music, drama, outdoor education and service to the local community. Students can take part in concerts, drama productions, residentials, day visits and international trips. The college has an active parent teacher association, which organises fundraising events throughout the year. The college aims to provide a friendly but disciplined and hardworking environment.
