General information

Background: St Margaret of Scotland Junior School was founded in 1960 to educate families from the Deanery of St Albans. It is a voluntary-aided Catholic school which is situated in the middle of one of the oldest council estates in the town. The building comprises 12 classrooms, two of which are mobile, a library which was built in 1995, a large hall which is used for assembly, physical education and as a dining room, a kitchen and an administration block. Links with the local community are actively encouraged, they provide harvest baskets in October, and support the homeless of Luton with Christmas fundraising activities, the school also sponsors a child in Ethiopia. 'Much' sporting success is achieved in football and netball and extra-curricular activities include line dancing, story club, French and ICT. Italian is taught as part of the curriculum.
