General information

Background: Situated in a village two miles from the market town of Diss, the school is housed in a 'picturesque' building dating back to the late 19th century, with more recent extensions. A library is housed in a 'spacious' caravan. The grounds are 'continually' being developed, and currently boast an adventure playground, herb and butterfly gardens and a long-established nature study area. The 'happy, well run' school enjoys a 'long and varied reputation for excellence' in academics and sports. Sport is considered 'significant' and the school is 'justly proud' of its achievements in local football, cricket and cross country competitions. Chess and gardening clubs are offered after school, and children can pay to attend weekly gymnastics and French sessions. Older children manage the tuck shop and the termly school magazine. There are links with 'many' local groups and the school promotes a partnership with parents. A 'very active' school association organises social events and raises funds for school equipment. .
