General information

Background: Hamond's High School is a co-educational comprehensive school established in 1977. The main school is on the Brandon Road. The Swaffham College though on the separate site in the historic market place in Swaffham, is an integral part of Hamond's High School. Many students from the high school choose to transfer to Swaffham sixth form. The school has a wide range of educational facilities including a large hall, drama studio and five computer networks. The curriculum is supported by a well-stocked learning resources centre. The physical education department enjoys the use of extensive playing fields, a large gymnasium, an open air swimming pool and all the resources of the Swaffham Leisure Centre including squash courts and a fitness centre. The school has a purpose-built modern languages suite, complete with satellite television, video cameras and ICT resourcing. The school has successful hockey, netball, football, rugby and cricket teams with students selected to play in county teams. The school encourages everyone to participate in school visits, expeditions and field courses. The school aims to provide a secure, caring, stimulating and supportive environment where each student can fulfil his/her potential.
