General information

Background: Coleraine High School is one of the oldest girls' grammar schools in Northern Ireland, and celebrates its 130th anniversary in 2005. Set in 28 acres of grounds near town centre, the school is five minutes' walk from the bus and rail stations. Modern buildings include a careers suite, a lecture theatre, a technology and design suite, an information technology suite, and a sixth-form centre. The school grounds contain an athletics track, hockey pitches and tennis courts. Pupils have access to a heated swimming pool, and squash and badminton courts in an adjacent leisure centre. Ethos: 'To encourage pupils to acquire knowledge and skills and the wisdom to use them in appropriate ways at appropriate times and to assist them to develop a sense of respect for themselves and for others. We aim to be a learning community where every member of staff is valued and respected, and contriubtes to the welfare of others.' .
