General information

Background: Boroughbridge High School is a community 11-18 mixed comprehensive school catering for the full range of abilities and has seven year groups. The school's curriculum is broad, varied and relevant. All the students between the ages 11 and 16 have the opportunity to follow courses in English language and English literature, mathematics, science, design and technology, French, history, geography, information and communication technology, art, music, drama, physical education, personal, health and social education, citizenship and religious education. School council is an important part of the school's citizenship education and an ideal opportunity to familarise students with the workings of democracy. The school is well equipped with information and communication technology equipment of many different kinds. The school has two computer rooms with 24 workstations in each with a further two rooms with 12 workstations. The resource centre is equipped with four multi-media systems (with two more in careers) which students can use as reference sources, watching video clips, viewing photographs, listening to sound extracts. Parents are always encouraged to become involved in supporting activities and instilling in their children a commitment towards school team selection and participation. Religious education department is an experienced team teaching from Year 7 to 11. This school is a friendly and orderly community.
