General information

Background: Bradleys Both Community Primary School was opened in 1914 and housed in stone buildings with later extension including large ICT suite, library and also two prefabricated classrooms. It is set in extensive ground with plenty of room for sports and adventure playground. Over the last two years, the school grounds have been extensively developed to form two outdoor play and learning areas for KS1 and KS2 and a new structured play area for the foundation stage. The school has a broad and balanced curriculum. Pupils? have opportunity to learn French from year 2. Diverse music tuition includes flute, oboe, violin, cello, double bass, guitar and brass. It also provides sporting activities such as football, netball, gym, rugby and early morning circuit training. Pupils undertake a variety of local outing as well as a residential visit for year 5 with outdoor and ICT activities. The school council has been developed and has marked impact on the school and the wider community. The school has won Beacon Status (2001), Basic Skills Quality Mark (2005), DfES Achievement Award (2002) and The Healthy School Award (2006). Bradley school is a happy, safe and effective school. The school recognises each child as individuals and aims to develop and encourage the full potential of each child. The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum which is relevant and child centred and will develop lively enquiring and imaginative minds. The school?s aim is to motivate children with the desire for knowledge and the understanding that learning is a lifelong adventure.
