General information

Background: Crakehall CE Primary School was founded in 1863 and is situated in a 'position of great charm' on the green of Great Crakehall village. The school serves the villages of Great and Little Crakehall, Newton-le-Willows and other isolated settlements to the west of the market town of Bedale. The building has four classrooms housed in two buildings. Pupils are encouraged to take up a musical instrument and to become involved in competitive sporting activities. The school has had success in recent years in technology, football and swimming. There are strong links with the local churches of St Gregory and St Patrick.
