Background: Opened in 1953; stands on an attractive site east of Helmsley. The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities; Education Extra award. Range of sporting opportunities: from traditional team games, in which the school has been extremely successful, to outdoor pursuits; Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. Specialist performing arts college status has extended musical opportunities and developed dance and drama as popular and successful opportunities. Before-school care, from 8.15am; after-school activities. Over-subscribed, with 1.1 applications per place. Sportsmark; Leading Edge status.
