General information

Background: The school was originally founded in 1861, but it vacated the Victorian building in September 1996 and moved into a new four-classroom purpose built school. It is situated in the centre of the village of Collingtree on a 'pleasant garden site' opposite the church. The village itself is small, and situated on the southern boundary of Northampton. 'The Christian principles of care, respect and undertanding permeate all aspects of school life', and the school aims to 'help its pupils to aquire knowledge and skills relevant to the world'. The school has a broad and balanced curriculum, based on the core subjects of the National Curriculum. The school runs a number of extra-curricular activities, which include choir, football, art club, netball, country dancing and music groups. It has 'strong and valued' links with the parish church and shares in many activities. The school has won the district sports, swimming gala and cross country events in recent years. The children perform concerts at Christmas and in the summer to raise funds for various children's charities, and older children sponsor a child through World Vision. The children make field visits each term with a residential trip in the summer including adventure weekends.
