General information

Background: Founded in 1541, Northampton School for Boys is an 11-18 single sex upper school for boys in Northamptonshire, England. The school has admitted boys from the age of 11 since September 2004. The school occupies an extensive and attractive site overlooking the Nene Valley, within a mile of the centre of Northampton. The school has outstanding facilities ranging from Edwardian to stunning modern yet complementary designs. It has made 12 year continuous improvement at GCSE-from 31 per cent in 1994 to 90 per cent five A-C in 2006. It has outstanding national reputation in music and sport, with many national and international awards and honours. There are massive programme of extra-curricular activity including many and varied international opportunities. It was named ?State School of the Year? by the Daily Telegraph in 2005-06. A magnificent £12m building project is due for completion in 2006. There is a unique extension residential programme, and a charitable link with a disadvantaged community in Malawi. Engaging students with the school, through activities and promotes academic achievements. .
