General information

Background: Crompton House School founded in 1926. The school house dates from 1710 but most of the buildings are less than 50 years old with many areas re-built in the past 10 years. The school has its own playing fields and is situated in a pleasant residential area in the Pennine foothills on the border of Oldham and Rochdale. The school has an excellent reputation for academic success and a record of examination results well above the national average and most of its sixth form goes on to university. The school enjoys an extensive and varied extra-curricular life. It has won considerable success on the sports field. Many pupils participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme bronze, silver and gold. The school is particularly proud of its musical achievements. Its choirs, orchestras and ensembles have performed in London and in many cathedrals. The school drama productions are always of a high standard. The school provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities including: football, netball, rugby, rounders, hockey, tennis and choirs. The school aims to provide a safe, trusting and caring environment based upon sound Christian principles and values. Every pupil is encouraged to develop his or her potential spiritually, intellectually, physically and socially.
