General information

Background: The school was founded in 1559. The modern comprehensive school was opened in 1971 on two sites in Thame. One site caters for students aged 11 to 14, the other for students aged 14 to 18. The school has extensive playing fields and sporting facilities, including two sports halls and access to a swimming pool. The school is a genuine community comprehensive with most students coming from the local area. The school works closely with the primary schools in the Thame partnership, which is a networked learning community. There are outstanding opportunities for students to participate in a wide range of activities including arts, sports, adventure and travel. It has three attractive well-stocked libraries. The school aims to offer a happy, safe and secure environment to ensure learning at the highest levels and for all students.
