General information

Background: Stoke Damerel Community College sits on a hill to the north of Plymouth. From three sides it has a stunning panoramic view over the city. Throughout the southwest Stoke Damerel has built an enviable reputation for excellence. The college has a good library, a state of the art learning resource centre and well-equipped specialist rooms for science and technology, and media. The assembly hall is air-conditioned and equipped for multi-media presentations. The sports hall, drama studio and art areas are all purpose-built specialist rooms. The general classrooms are carpeted and pleasant for learning and working. Completed in September 2004 are its new multi-use games area and a floodlit synthetic sports pitch. As a mathematics and computing college it has invested in an industry-standard computer network running the latest software with over 500 networked computers. The college has a good reputation for its achievements in sport and the arts. The college aims to provide welcoming and caring environment that enables its students to thrive and to take a positive, interactive and responsible role both within the college and the wider community. .
