General information
Background: Light Hall School was opened as a Boys' County High School in 1964, and girls were admitted four years later as the buildings were extended. Light Hall became a comprehensive in 1974. The school offers a broad balanced curriculum with open entitlement to all pupils and a wide range of learning opportunities for pupils of all ages through a two-week timetable. The curriculum for both key stages is organised in line with the requirements of the national curriculum. Sports facilities include football and rugby pitches, and an all-weather cricket strip. The sports hall has a sprung floor and is the base for Solihull Olympic Gymnastics Club. There are netball and tennis courts, and a gymnasium. A new history extension and technology block has recently been built. There are specialist music and drama studios. The school aims to promote understanding and participation in the partnership between home, school and community.
