General information
Background: The Blue School is an 11 to 18 Church of England Voluntary Controlled co-educational school. The school is a Specialist Science college and school are looking forward to the exciting developments that will accompany this decision. The school campus is a most attractive one, with approximately 32 acres of playing fields and a superb view across the city. The school has 10 specialist suites, 23 rooms with interactive whiteboards, with further computers distributed in classrooms and across the school in areas such as sixth form study suite and cyber café. A new science centre is currently under construction incorporating laboratories, prep rooms and a large state-of-the-art information and communication technology science facility for their students and those from partner primary schools. The sport facilities at the centre are 4 court sports hall, floodlit all weather pitch, fitness room, weights room, gymnasium, climbing and caving walls, recreation pitches and hard courts and facilities provided are hockey, basketball, cricket (indoor/outdoor), tennis, netball, badminton, athletics, trampolining, rugby, football. The Blue School council fundraising team coordinates the support, which the school gives to a variety of charities, in particular the raising of money. The school believes that all students are entitled to broad, balanced relevant and differentiated curriculum. Sportsmark; Investor in People stuatus.
