Background: Frampton Cotterell Church of England School is a locally managed voluntary controlled primary school which serves the community of Frampton Cotterell, situated about seven miles north east of Bristol. The school was established in 1843, and moved to the current building in 1969. There are 11 classrooms, all of which have their own TV and video recorder, and there are generally two computers with internet access. There is also an ICT suite equipped with 15-networked computers. The school grounds include a play area, football wall, shaded areas, a conservation area and pond. There are extra-curricular activities every lunch time and after-school. Currently these include tag-rugby, chess, football, computer clubs and music groups. The school values all members of the community equally, has high expectations, treats all children with respect, encourages independence and a sense of community. The school is above all a caring school which offers choice, opportunity and success.
