Background: Abercorn Primary School was opened in 1931 in traditional red brick building on elevated site close to town centre. Its enrolment has increased steadily over past few years. Pupils involved in cross-community activities such as project to make garden for disabled people in school grounds. Extra-curricular activities of the school range from football, hockey, rugby, netball, drama and computers during two terms to 10 different clubs in summer term. The school is a holder of hockey and football trophies. Its children raise significant funds for charities each year. A variety of opportunities are offered at lunchtime and after-school to enhance the learning of pupils. The school aims to provide an environment based on care and consideration for others and the improvement of the individual.
