Background: The school was built in 1966 and represented the amalgamation of two long-established primaries in Dungannon. The school building has been well-maintained and offers separate dining and assembly halls, and a sound-proofed audio-visual room. It is within walking distance for many pupils and within easy reach of the town library and swimming pool. Extra-curricular activities include boys' football, girls' netball, basketball, mini-rugby, hockey, kwik cricket, cycling proficiency, choir, and instrumental tuition for pupils who demonstrate appropriate aptitude.
